He's been spending a lot of time in the water lately and I recently noticed he is getting a "bulb" on the end of his tail where I believe it is growing back.  It seems to me that he is really trying to focus his energies there, instead of eating.  It perplexes me.  I've talked to some other reptile people and the general consensus is that he is stressed since the "tail incident".

that is a definate possibility . probably the best thing for him is to be left alone as much as possible to let him relax a bit . all you can really do is keep offering him food on a regular basis and try to keep him as comfortable as possible . it could take a while for him to get over the loss of part of his tail .

It looks like you do! :)  Thanks for looking though, and I look forward to meeting you someday up at Animal Jungle.  I stop in there from time to time to get supplies (great store).

you know , if worse comes to worse , you could always donate him to the shop . we do take in reptiles and rehome them quite often . there would also be a full staff of us to take care of him till he is ready for a new home .
