08 Season Starts

Well, the first clutch of snake eggs are hatching as I type. These were Spider X Normal.....6 eggs so far only one normal has slit the egg. We have corns due in the next few weeks and also eggs due from either Pastel X Pastel, or Pastel X Spider.......here's hoping for lots of supers or bees........I'll try to keep this updated as the babies start coming but I have a feeling by the beginning of August we will have our hands full. Second clutch eggs here!

Happy to say Luna laid 13 eggs last night (one possible slug)! They are small and more oblong-shaped than the first clutch, but appear to be good at this point.  I was pretty amazed she produced that many, but she was HUGE before laying the first clutch, so she must have had lots of reserve fat or something, as she is not emaciated looking, just thinner.

second vacation herp trip

Yesterday, I took a trip out to the Big Basin Redwoods State Park. From what I had read, its a great place to find California Newts, Pacific Giant Salamanders, and occasional Rubber Boas. First off, the best part of this was that it was not as hot as Sacramento valley (103 degrees---UGH!!!), not just temp wise, but there was'nt a covering of smoke from all of the wildfires---I could breathe!!! This park is absolutely gorgeous! giant redwoods, open space, plenty of hiking, I cant wait to go back... Read More

So we're getting closer and closer to my due date...and I'm almost done painting the new reptile room and then it's on to the baby's room! I've already decided that if it's a boy the colors will be green/blue/brown and if it's a girl the colors will be green/pink/brown and we're going with a froggy theme.
