Officially an ARMY mom

My son graduated from basic today. I am truly sad that I was not able to attend the ceremonies, but so proud of him for making this stand.
It is very hard to know your child, my only son, is going off to face the enemies. To know that there is no longer anything you can do to shield and protect them from the world. Now he will be protecting us. It makes for some very mixed feelings.
I know however that he truly believes in his decision. That he wants more than anything to be a good American soldier. That he believes our country's freedoms are important enough to fight for.
So I want to say a big Congratulations to the next generation of soldiers. May all of our prayers be with the many sons and daughters who choose to put their lives on the line for us.
I love you Justin!
GO ARMY!!!
