Disappointed ex-Army Mom

Well, I recently blogged about how proud I was of my son graduating boot camp and becoming an official Army mom.

I am not sure exactly what has happened, my son is strategically avoiding my contact attempts, but he has somehow been discharged. I am hoping it is for something like medical issues. But I just don't know. He went back home on leave and something happened.

No matter what he is my son and I am still proud of his decision to join and for making it through basic with flying colors. I just wish he could be as open about things with me as my daughters are. I guess its a guy thing. 

To all you serving in the military...my thanks and prayers.

For all the family members...my hopes and prayers. (I have siblings, other family and friends serving and deployed, so I do understand what you go through and how hard it is on the entire family).

And for all of you sons and daughters...even if you screw up, tell your mom!!! She'll worry less knowing the truth than wondering what you are up to.

I know how hard it was for my mom to hear about some of her kids (myself included) issues second hand
 - sometimes we don't realize what we are putting our mothers (and ourselves) through.

I can almost guarantee that 3 to 4 years from now, it will not seem as big of a deal to him and even he won't understand why he didn't call you.

Yeah - it is largely a guy thing. Our bravado can make us into complete morons. At least for me that's been the case.
