ABOUT ME

My name is Heather and I started into reptiles in December of '07 when I moved to an apartment where I couldn't have a cat or dog. I am enjoying my new adventure in this mystic animal world and look forward to more learning and experiences as I grow within it. Ever since my unfortunate - but much needed - divorce, I have filled my life with work and animals. I look forward to filling it with more animals going forward (the heck with more work).

Children's, Spotted, or Anthill Pythons
Golden Hognose
Various types of Hognose snakes (I love their heads)
Macklots or Savu Python
White Lipped Python (Black or Gold Phase - loving the rainbow affect)
Red Mountain Rat Snake
Chinese Bamboo Rat Snake
Sunbeam Snake (maybe)
Maybe another Armadillo Lizard
and maybe even a Plated Lizard

HERPETOLOGICAL INTERESTS

I am most interested in the non-venmous snakes - especially the old world rat snakes. I am limited on space due to apartment size so animals that stay small or get no bigger than 5' are what I am looking at now. That can always change if I move. I am also interested in the small lizards - armadillos especially but got introduced to a plated lizard and am giving those some serious thought. I went to my first herp show and look forward to many more. I love talking and chatting with others in the herp world - the more I learn the more I enjoy the hobby and my animals. It also gives me more exposure to expand my interests.

GENERAL INTERESTS

I have many and most of them revolve around animals and the outdoors - I am an avid equestrian (just recently had to find another home for my horse) and will go horseback riding every opportunity I can get. I completely enjoy my fish and am hoping to start breeding my blue acaras in the near future. I love my reptiles - I want more. Anything that has to do with the outdoors especially camping and canoing. I really enjoy the beach and ocean - will go to sea any day. I also do things at home as I practice my flute and enjoy a lazy day of hand made embroidery or even a really good book.

Yeah unfortunately sometimes it just has to be learned the hard way, I've been through those times way too much in my life. I don't know much about the clips since Boots doesn't ever really try to get out of his cage, but couldn't you just put a book or something over the ends of the cage??

Sorry to hear that. I just got home from work and found my Pastel Boa had escaped from her cage. I found her on top of another cage where I keep mice!

Sorry to hear that. I just got home from work and found my Pastel Boa had escaped from her cage. I found her on top of another cage where I keep mice!

I am sooooooo out of the loop - when is the next Hamburg show? I am planning on going to the one in Carlisle in a couple of weeks. I have to be careful this year and go to the shows without coming out with anything (this is going to be tough) lol.
