hey yall . i'm mark and i've kept reptiles and/or amphibians most of my life . i caught my first garter snake at 5 and from that point on , i was constantly bringing home any kind of herps i could find . when i was in my early thirties , i had plans to try my hand at breeding a couple species of snakes , but about the time my critters were getting large and old enough to breed , my then fiance(sp) convinced me to get rid of them all . i was out of the hobby for about 8 or 9 years .

not quite 3 years ago a friend of mine had a friend who was trying desperately to get rid of a snake that was abandoned at their house by an evicted boarder . at the time it had been so long since i had kept any reptiles that i really wasnt very interested in taking in any reptiles . i sort of looked at them as a part of my past . my friend convinced me to at least go over and take a look at the snake . when i got there and saw what horrible condition the poor thing was in and how teriffied the people were of her who had had the snake dumped on them , i couldnt leave her there .

she was a ball python about 4 foot long and skinny as a rail . the cage she was in was just plain disgusting . i took her and her cage home with me , got everything either cleaned up or thrown away and got her set up properly .

well , it didnt take long for her to grow on me and i realized how much i was enjoying taking care of her . one afternoon while i was at the local petshop picking up a feeder rat for her , i noticed a help wanted sign for the reptile department and on the spur of the moment , i put an aplication in and talked to the reptile manager . got an intervue 2 days later , and had the job a couple days after that .

i started out working there part time as a second job , but a 8 months later when the retaraunt i was working at as a cook closed down i was offered a promotion and full time position at the petshop . i've been there 2 years now and love my job . the shop i work at is the largest privately owned exotic petshop in virginia , and we also have the largest reptile department in the state . you can check out our website at www.animaljungle.com

since going to work at the shop , my collection has sort of exploded into what you see in the list below . i had not realized how much i missed my beloved hobby until i was sort of pushed back into it .

last year i produced my first(well my critters did all the hard work) baby snakes . 4 baby mexican rosy boas and 11 kenyan sand boas . it's sort of like a forgotten dream come true .

this year , i should be producing both mex rosy's and ksb's again as well as my first clutch (hopefully 2 clutches) of ball pythons , and possibly het albino checker x blue florida garter snakes and an even slimmer possibility of calabar burrowing boas .

in the next couple years , as more of my animals mature , and with a little luck , i will be producing more species like paulsonis , spotted pythons , childrens pythons , saharan sand boas , ij carpet pythons , and who knows what else will be added to the mix .

1.2 ball pythons
1.1 mexican rosy boas
2.2 calabar/african burrowing boas
1.1 kenyan sand boas
2.1 paulsoni/soloman island ground boas
1.1 irian jaya carpet pythons
1.1 spotted pythons
1.3 childrens pythons
2.2 saharan sand boas
1.1 viper boas
1.1 candoia carinata carinata
0.1 florida blue garter snake
1.0 savannah monitor
1.1 tokay geckos
0.1 white spotted gecko
0.1 rose hair tarantulas
0.1 chaco golden knee taratula
0.0.1 A. versicolor
0.1 stout leg baboon
3.9.?? rats
3.15.?? mice

to many to list , but , a few species that have priority would be ant hill pythons , rough scaled sand boas , arabian sand boas , rubber boas and a couple different localities of rosy boas .

primarily smaller boas and pythons , but also monitors . also pretty much any reptiles , amphibians and/or inverts , but my breeding projects are mostly going to be the smaller boids .

i enjoy fishing , hiking , boating , bicycling and most any outdoor activities .

Hey I see you have egg laying boas.  Were you looking to get into the arabian sand boas which are also egg layers?
