Garter snakes by far, have the bet personality of any snake. They are extremely smart, nosy, inquisitive, adventurous, and spunky! Many of the so called "professional" snake keepers fail at keeping garters because they don't realize that a) they need to eat a lot more than other snakes, b) feeding them goldfish and minnows will kill them in the long run because they contain thiaminase which prevents them from absorbing vitamin B1 and leads to a slow seizuring death!! Their care is more high mantenance than other snakes, but teh payoff is their amazing personalities as well as the endless rainbow of colors they come in.
