A laugh is good Juju - - or good for the soul - - at any rate it just makes you feel good - - soo here we go: Ready?? Ok a burglar breaks into this house and he's rummaging thru looking for the valuables and he hears a voice from somewhere nearby saying "Jesus is watching" he is startled shines his light thru the room and doesn't see anyone.... he goes back to his work rummaging for jewlery and electronic stuff - -the voice gets louder "Jesus is watching" again he shines his light but still no one...he shakes his head thinking he's just imaging this - - -and goes back to his work - - Now the voice gets even louder "JESUS IS WATCHING" he turn and shines his light this time it lands on a birdcage where a maccaw is sitting he walks over and says to the bird - -was that you? The bird says "JESUS IS WATCHING" he says yeah well who are you? The bird replies "MOSES" the burglar snickers and asks "what kinda people name a bird MOSES?" The bird looks at him and answers - -"the same kind who name their rottweiler JESUS" HAhahaha

Hi all - -Yep story time AGAIN and yes soo soon!! Story of my life - -Have a seat and laugh with me for a moment:

       Remember I just started to colonize Roaches? Well if you didn't know that now you do! 

     So a couple days ago I go to the Roach Motel to check on Delilahs favorite food, and what do I find?  A dead Roach!  Ok, only one no biggie..I'm sure it happens.

     Next day I go to "spritz" (ok Mike mist) my delictable delights and what do I find?? Two more DEAD ROACHES!!

     Okay - -now I am soo worried what am I doing wrong??  I know I am new at this but I think I am doing everything right.  OMG What if I lose the whole Colony??

     Panic sets in!  I place an emergency call to Mike aka "Nails". 

    Mike somethings going wrong my roaches are dying!!  Okay we start at square one...what am I feeding them....nope we're ok there.....

    What kind of heat source am I using??  Same one in your photobucket display - -but they didn't have the 60 watt only the 100!  EUREKA!!  That must be it - -I am frying them...I guess I better get the BBQ Sauce out!!  LOL 

     What's the temp I'm asked - - Duh - -I dunno!!  Okay I get a thermometer and  we are eliminating other possibilities for the casualties.   Not the food, not the humidity, the only thing it can be is the heat...

     So now we have been on the phone oh a good hour....I read the thermometer it read 89.6.... HHHmmm  not the heat...

     Stumped - -all possible culprits eliminated....

     It must be that I'm frying them because all thats left are these little "crispy" shells!!

   His wife over hearing this yells out "Girl your roaches aren't dying!!!  THEY'RE MOLTING"  They are supposed to do that!!!" 

   After five minutes of laughter from the other end of the phone and ribbing me about reading the care sheet where it clearly states in two places that they molt - - -

   Mike stutters out (still laughing) have you seen any white ones - -and I said YEAH 

   He says thats the ghost of the ones you killed.........and the laughter continues...

     Yep just another blonde day.................

Quick but true story - -sure to put a smile on your Monday morning faces! 

 No names will be used to protect the innocent - -and no it was not me!!!

A friend's wife takes their dog for a walk every morn - -she always wears her hoodie with a little tee shirt underneath... So she's walkin the dog and shes starting to get warm...

She's walking down a path that leads into a major section of town high traffic area...       so shes getting warmer and warmer as she's walking .........finally she gets to this MAJOR intersection and she thinks oh to heck with this!  I'm too warm I'll just take the hoodie off!! 

So,  she unzips the hoodie and realizes she didn't put her tee shirt on underneath!!! 

- -Wait it gets better  MAJOR INTERSECTION REMEMBER!!

Just as she flings open her hoodie to reveal her girls in all their glory...     

A landscaping truck filled with hispanics in the back comes around the corner!!!

They are cackling all sorts of things in spanish at her and blowing her kisses!!! 

What a way to start your day!!!!! LOL

Well I think I finally went off the deep end!!  I actually have roaches and on purpose!!  I love to tell stories get your blankies and pillows:

So most of you know I have this beautiful Beardie named Delilah - -for those of you who don't (now you do). Delilah was severly neglected when I got her!!  She weighed a whopping 172g...she was pale as a ghost, and had feces caked on her underbelly, tail, and all four feet.  Her last shed was stuck on her under the feces....anyway

Being a newbie at all of this - -I was very lucky to have had some marvelous help with caring for her.. The outpouring of support for her well being was overwhelming!  Thanks especially goes to Mike aka "NAILS" who has been there every step of the way guiding me in the proper husbandry for her.  He was able to teach me everything from the correct set-up, temps, substrate, food, treats, vitamin supplements, digestive aids...

So it has been about 7 weeks now and her last weigh in a few days back she is 286g!!!  She is so much healthier and happier too!  If you check my gallery you will see the progression and how really thin and sickly she was and how pleasingly plump and happy she is!!

Oh where do the Roaches fit in?  Well, During this time roaches were brought up as a better protein source than crickets...many benefits to roaches vs crickets.  But roaches!  EEww... I can't stand the crickets though - -they smell awful, they are pretty good escape artists - -still chasing them down after three doz got loose in my family room LOL!! And they can carry parasites...

After having conversations with a few members here who have Roaches for their beardies  - -I finally decided to try them! 

So first I needed to know how to colonize them...No problem Mike aka "NAILS" has a care sheet with everything you  never thought you'd ever need to know about Discoid Roaches.  Then theres the Roach Motel (I call them) Again no problem - -Mike sends me to his photobucket account which has detailed photos of his "roach Motels" and the supplies he uses.   Again utilizing the resources here and finding out from other members how they built theirs....It a no brainer!!  Check my Roach Motel out - -in my photo gallery!!

The big day arrives - -11:00am doorbell rings - -OMG their here!  I'm not super excited about it but I have to open the door!!!  I open the package the deli cups are perfectly in tact complete with Adults, Sub-Adults and Babies! Good thing I bought tongs those Adults are HUGE!!!  The Adults look like Delilah could ride them not eat them!!  I think I'll retrofit the tongs 10" is not a great enough distance between me and them!  Check out the pic of them inside their "Motel" 

Mike is a great guy to deal with the quality of the shipment was great - -the delivery was as expected and he is there every step of the way to make sure you are happy with what you get. As a matter of fact he called me to find out if they had been delivered as promised,  if everything was set and if I needed anything.  Thanks Mike!

I definately would recommend Mike "Nails" and his roaches or any of his "babies"!  As a matter of fact I am purchasing a baby beardie from him later this summer!!  And I cant wait!!!
