Okay, so I work at PETCO, right? Well, for whatever reason the company feels that when eggs are laid-by whichever species whether bird or reptile-they should be destroyed. I KNOW!! Ridiculous, anyway, a while back, we had eggs in the crested gecko habitat. I told my boss who said, you know, we're technically supposed to destroy them. To which I replied "do we kill the mice when we get pregnant ones? Which we do all the time!!!! Anyway, when I went in on Thursday, I saw that we had a crestie in a tank in back. I figured it was the male we had just sold that was returned....IT WASN'T! It was a dark red baby crested gecko-no bigger than my thumb! My boss asked Saturday if I wanted to take it home, of course i said yes! So we have a baby now....I'll try to put up a picture soon...we're trying to get a cool name that means should not have lived-or we could just name him Harry, since he's the boy who lived and all..... sorry, I'm lame... :-)

So "my position was eliminated" on thursday. And I'm back to making almost no money at the petstore. Anyone need help in the Chicago area? this should be fun
Is dead. I'm a little in shock. He has been one of my favorite comedians from the moment I heard him. I remember I bought Brain Droppings and Napalm and Silly Putty and read them within a day. I'll miss you, George
I finally got to get some pictures of our animals! check them out and let me know what you think!!!
We went to Chicago Reptile House and bought a hatchling Desert King Snake, mostly because my sister fell in love with him, lol. But he is beautiful!! no name yet, but we've only had him since saturday
So my sister and I are thinking of getting a pair of Sulcata tortoises...hopefully by the time they are old enough, we have a house and a backyard to house them in! There's a store by my house that sells baby Sulcatas for $90, so we're thinking about doing that... But I really want a redfoot tortoise...they are so interesting, I was watching one at the zoo the other day eating a peace lily in its habitat and I just wanted to take it home, the way they walk, the way they eat, they are just fascinating to watch!
Okay, so he has some pinworms, not too many, but enough that the vet said it was best to treat him. oh, it is definitely a boy and now I know how to tell a little better! He still doesn't have a name...maybe you guys could help me decide Ford Tortoise or Ivan Yakanoff ??? or do you have a better suggestion?
So I'm bringing the tortoise to the vet tomorrow, she is still making noises that aren't normal, so I want to make sure she's okay. She's been eating really well and loves bean sprouts and endive! (I think it's a girl now, but the vet's going to help me with that!). Wish me (and her) luck!
