Brahmas are awesome animals. Every one that I've been around is like a big dog. They will learn their name and come running when you call them.

They are kind of mutts. They are a cross between nubian and boer. They get pretty big, an adult can weigh in at about 100-125 lbs. They are a lot more work than I thougt when i bought them. I am actually considering taking most of them to auction and getting some cattle instead. The goats are costing us more than what they are saving us in tax breaks. If you are considering raising some kind of live stock, I would recommend cattle or hogs if you don't want a lot of maintenance.

hi Mary, i've always been interested in farm livestock, so what breed/breeds are your goats?

I love them. They're awesome. I got them all when they were 6-8 weeks old. They were barely off the sow.

I didn't personally catch them. My friends caught them when they were very young. They are feral pigs but they have been domesticated so much that they are like dogs now. They roll over on their sides and back to get their belly rubbed.

Did you catch the pigs you have?

Very cool. I have had a few feral hogs. Iusually end up in okeechobee hunting and have saved a few. They do turn out to be good pets if you get them young enough.

I think they are way under rated as pets. I think they are smarter than dogs. If you like lizards and don't mind daily feeding you would really love bearded dragons. Have you had one yet?

You'd be surprised at how picky they are. They don't eat as much grass and weeds as we thought they would when we got them. We supplement them too much and they're all fat and spoiled. They were livestock when we bought them but now they're just pets and yard ornaments.

lol! wow! i thought they ate just about about anything non-meat.
