I can't wait. It is going to be great.
Posted On 07/18/2008 08:51:11

One day left until I am gone and on vacation. It is so much work to get everything ready for vacation, but it is going to be so worth it. We are flying into Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Sunday and then driving into Key West. One of the trips in Key West we are going to take is a 2 hour boat ride to the Tortuga Islands and there are supposed to be a bunch of sea turtles around this island. I cant wait! The snorkeling is supposed to be the best around. The snorkeling in Aruba was great and Key West is supposed to be much better. We will be in Key West for seven days then driving back to Fort Lauderdale and staying with a family member for a few days. They are not that far from the ever glades.  I am going to definitely poke around in the everglades one day when I am there.

I have a new under water digital camera so I will be taking tons of pictures. If the hotel has free internet access I will upload any good herp pictures I take while I am there. Some of these hotels get pretty pricey with the internet fees, we shall see. My flight leaves Newark airport 7am Sunday morning and we should land in Fort Lauderdale around 10am (so they say). Then we drive for about three more hours to Key West. This is going to be a long day but so worth it.

Talk to you all later! PEACE!

Finally going HERPIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted On 05/31/2008 13:13:34

I can’t wait!!!!!!!!!! I am finally going to go herpin on Sunday 6/1. I have been dieing to go for sometime now but the weather has not been the best here. I am hoping to find…umm…anything. This being my first outing of the year I will be happy with seeing and photographing anything.  It is going to rain all day here Saturday 5/31. It should be a pretty good day on Sunday. I should be able to get a lot of good pictures. I can’t wait! I need to pack my bag and get out all of my herpin tools…this is going to be fun. Even if I find is a wood frog and a spotted toad it will be great just to get out and be one with nature. Yeah that was cheesy but what can I say?

Five in one week and now I need MORE.
Posted On 05/08/2008 18:05:55

Well I am now up to five ball pythons. I started out last Thursday (5/1/2008) with zero. A friend of mine needed to find a new home for his four so I took them in and they are not just all normal. They are 1 male 100% het for albino caramel, 1 male 100% het for clown, 1 male pastel and 1 female normal. Then I picked up a male lemon pastel. Now guess what this means???? I NEED MORE FEMALES. I would really like to get everything set and in place for next years breeding season. I am just not sure what type of females to get? Do I get norms or do I pick up some type of het and see what I can produce? I have a couple of expos coming up next month and would like to pick up a couple from there or if any one on Rg has any for sale that would be cool… then I could keep it in the Rg family. Well any suggestions are welcome.

Under Tank Heater
Posted On 05/03/2008 08:23:38

I ran a poll for about a day or so about under tank heaters. Here is the question and the results. I had seven people vote on the poll.

Which under tank heater is better to use with plastic tubs?

T-Rex Cobra Heat Mat 43%

HeatWave Undertank Heater 0%

Zoo Med Repti-Therm 57%

I would like to thank the people that took the time out to vote I was leaning towards the ZOO MED REPTI TERM PAD myself but just wanted some other opinions. Just another reason why REPTILEGEEKS.COM totally rocks.

Isn't it funny

I find it funny  how I would always walk right past the Bearded Dragons at the reptile expos. I was always into BIG snakes and only BIG snakes. I mean sure I always loved all reptiles but only wanted BIG snakes as pets. Now here I am with 15 dragons and 1 ten foot red tail boa oh yeah and 4 ball pythons that I just acquired. When at one point I had over twenty snakes. I would never even look at the dragons for sale or even say maybe I will pick one of those up, they just did not interest me. It all started one day on CL. This kid was selling a tank and I needed another one (yeah right) so I called him. To make a long story short I went over to pick up the tank and he had some dragons and one of his males was super aggressive towards every other dragon he had so he asked me if I wanted him and it took me about a milla second to answer him. I mean come on a FREE reptile what is better? So here I am driving home with this dragon not knowing anything about him. So when I got home I sat down in front of the pc with dragon in lap and Googled bearded dragon and for hours I sat reading up on this guy. This was about 1 ˝ years ago. Now I have bread some of my dragons. I spend more then an hour after coming home from work with my dragons feeding, cleaning and just letting them out of their enclousure. Isn't it funny.

Update on the little ones
Posted On 05/03/2008 06:46:15

Well here I go my very first BLOG ever. That’s right I have never written one before so be nice…lol. The Bearded Dragons that hatched on April 16-18 are all doing great and eating like crazy. I even have some that are eating their veggies already. They grow so fast. It is amazing how self sufficient they are and we are the dominate species. They are not to thrilled when they get a bath but what youngster really is… After they realize, hey this is great their little heads slam down and they start gulping the water right up.
