I've been extremely busy with all of the new babies. We've hatched a ton of reds and hypos this month. I even had a surprise clutch of red hypos pop up. In all there are almost 400 dragons in the reptile building right now. That's a whole lot of poop to scrape!! LOL Here's a picture of one of the red males I have up on my site. He's really nice!! The hypos are looking great too.

Well the little gems have started shedding so I'm starting to shoot pictures. These guys are really looking good! I'll be posting them up here, over at kingsnake.com, and on my website. Take a look and tell me what you think.

Well they've finally hatched! My first group of reds for the year have hatched and they are looking great. The little buggers were eating within a couple of hours. I'm going to have to order a bunch of feeders for these guys. Their a hungry lot! Its going to be a crazy week around here. With the number of eggs we have hatching we'll be feeding over 200 babies this week and next week we'll hatch another 100. I'm going to need a vacation soon! LOL
Well I took an inventory of the incubator today. It would appear that I have 101 egss from my good red female and 80 eggs from my Hypo Tangerine line. This is on top of the 500+- normals in the incubators.
The reds should start hatching in about a week and the hypo's in two weeks. Normals (well as normal as they get anymore) are hatching almost daily now. It crazy around here!! And I thought I was going into semi-retirement when I quit my job. LOL
The other morning we had a huge storm cell go through. We're talking thunder, lightning, pounding rain...........the works. Well I decided to go out to the shop just to make sure everyone was doing ok. Got out there and my males were going crazy! Well I figured that seeing as they were all fired up I'd give them something to do. I got every female who needed breeding bred in a couple of hours. It was really amazing! The breeding frinzy lasted for the better part of two days.
Lesson learned.........................low pressure cells are great for breeding!
Well after very little thought and even less deliberation I quit my job last week. Yes I am now and forever more will be a full time poop scraper.........uh I mean reptile breeder! LOL
We have a serious number of dragons hatching and a lot of eggs in the incubator so the bills are being paid. Now I just have to decide whether to get up in the morning and build more cages, go fishing, or hang that new hammock? Its a rough life, but somebody has to do it!
