Hi thanks for writing...My MBK is just took his 2nd hopper mouse( F/T) now...I got him in March of this year and he was a hatchling...the last hopper I gave him was on the big side..and I was worried once he started swallowing it..but he got it down ok..so its been 24 hours and so far so good ..l am worrying type mom./pet keeper...he seems to like being held ..I like to hold him earlier in the day he is mellower in the evening he is more active..and I can tell if he is getting hungry he is very active. but mostly he just crawls through my hands down my back lol..if I let him..do you feed your snakes in a seperate container ? I do . Wow that was great you had the ribbon snake so long..was it fun to watch in its tank...I am going to check out the world of toads.. I caught one this summer by the swimming pool ..I was worried it would fall in and drown..it was a healthy sized Pa toad..I relocated it in the yard but it was back the next nite..lol..I took some pics..but havent uploaded it yet..Looking forward to learning about toads...
nice talking..
Happy scales
We got Midnight as a baby in 2004. I have an albino corn snake named Athena who I've had since 1996. Those are the only two snakes we have. We have one pacman frog and the rest are all toads in the true toad family of bufo. I used to have a Ribbon snake, too, but she died when she was 9 and a half. Not a bad life span for her species, I'm told. But Ribbon snakes are not very good as far as holding them. They're nervous. Both Athena and Midngiht like being held and played with sometimes, but Stipes never did. What does your snake eat? Mine only likes small mice. I have tons of pics on my website, toadilytoads.com. Look under the photo gallery section.
